crossroads gallery submissions
as a member of the educational outreach and exhibitions committee, i am happy to tip off our beloved design department to the call for entries for new 08-09 exhibits at the kcai crossroads student gallery. i would love love love to see some group design show in there, like a type or poster show or something. we could show the fine art world what we're made of. here is the "call for entries" flyer and the submission criteria. please let me know if you have questions or need input.

adobe offers student font set on cd
we educators have been complaining about this for a long time, and it's finally here -- a decent collection of usable type families at an affordable price. for $150 you can get a very respectable range of very usable typefaces in all major categories. check out the adobe page for more info, and download a pdf of their complete font list. i'll just whet your appetite by saying there are 27 weights of univers alone, and a total of 500 fonts -- all for $150! crazy.

All media work us over completely. They are so pervasive in their personal, political, economic, aesthetic, psychological, moral, ethical, and social consequences that they leave no part of us untouched, unaffected, unaltered. The medium is the massage.”
Marshall McLuhan and Quentin Fiore (graphic designer), The Medium is the Massage.
Know What?
Tyler and Jamie have both been awarded acceptance by the AIGA Educators Conference Massaging Message:2 to present in Boston, April 4-6.
Impressed? We are. Big congrat's!!!! Can't wait to see the video on our home turf.
