MU Extension is an academic division of the University of Missouri, integrated with various schools and colleges at all four campuses of the University of Missouri and Lincoln University. The primary purpose of this position is to provide timely original graphic arts design and layout services that support MU Extensions publication and web projects. 

Project content will range from promotional to educational and will require design proficiency in a variety of formats such as web pages, guidebooks and academic publications, as well as marketing materials such as brochures, flyers, displays and branded collateral.

The Kansas City Symphony is looking for interns in their marketing department. Intern with the World War 1 Museum




Seeking: a highly creative, detail-oriented and talented junior or senior year student majoring in graphic design to get hands-on experience in creating real-time deliverables and concepts for university credit.   

General Purpose: Provide production support to the Museum designer in producing print and Internet-based materials. Assist in creative development and concepts. Maintain the Museum brand across all materials.

Election Design Fellows are communication designers who assist states in the design of election materials, such as ballots, voter registration forms and educational websites. Fellows help to improve election accuracy and citizen experience, with respect to each state's local laws and election equipment, by implementing the election reforms mandated by the Federal Election Commission's Help America Vote Act of 2002 (HAVA) and the ballot and polling place design guidelines suggested by AIGA Design for Democracy and the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC).
Design for Democracy partners with Secretaries of State and election officials to recruit, select and support well-qualified designers for termed, open positions. The program was initiated in Oregon in 2006 under the leadership of John Lindback, the state's chief election official and a Design for Democracy advisor, and in 2008 was introduced in the state of Washington, under election director Nick Handy.

BikeWalkKC/Kansas City B-cycle seeks part time Design Interns
















BikeWalkKC/Kansas City B-cycle is looking for two part time design interns with a strong understanding of design for social change. Designers will report to the Director of Marketing and Communications and will be an integral part of a growing team focused on user design and development. 

BWKC and B-cycle designers must be skilled at bringing projects to life, from concept to post-launch support. Designers can expect to be out doing field work: riding bicycles and using B-cycle to proof their design and user experience.

This process includes everything from conceptual sketches that support specific use-cases to visual design explorations that translate into product.
Candidates must first be a strong designer, but they should also be thoughtful, respectful, and have people-first approaches to strategy, interaction, and visual design.

Siege Sports is an athletic uniform company that creates custom garments.  Each set of uniforms they make, whether they are football-basketball-volleyball-etc., is custom designed for each school.  In addition to these uniforms, they also sell traditional uniforms for youth teams and school athletic programs.

The Nelson-Atkins Museum is looking for 5-7 individuals to participate in a 4 day lab event that is both collaborative and highly interactive. 

Selected lab residents will collaborate with Museum staff and visitors to produce a short (3-6 minute) video exploring a museum collection object, The Officer's Sword. While working in the Nelson-Atkins Creative Café, lab residents will explore innovative ways of interacting with the community and telling new stories with art objects.

production assistant needed at tivol















TIVOL, a 103-year-old, family owned fine jewelry retailer, is seeking an
entry level Production Assistant to support the Marketing Department in
its daily activities and promotional efforts. This position reports to the
Director of Marketing.

The Production Assistant -- under close guidance and supervision of the
Marketing Director -- will be responsible for creating window clings;
print materials such as postcards, brochures, billboards, miscellaneous
signage, advertising for newspapers and magazines as well as high-end
invitations; digital media such as banner ads for TIVOL.com and ads for
partner websites; e-blasts; and assisting in the creation and editing of
business-related videos as required. Twice per year, the Marketing
Department produces a high-end publication titled TIVOL Magazine. This
position will be responsible for the layout and design of its local
editorial pages, as well as assisting in the selling of local ads.

Graphic design is only half of the story, however. This role will also
assist in the coordination of the numerous special events held both
off-site and at TIVOL throughout the calendar year. Organization is key.
Responsibilities will include the hiring of caterers and providing
assistance in menu planning, hiring DJs and overseeing other detailed
event logistics. Attending these events, which are often held on evenings
and weekends, is necessary and mandatory. In addition, this position will
track and process donations to charitable organizations and related
special events that benefit the community.

Other duties include but are not limited to helping maintain TIVOL's
Intranet content, as well as maintaining inventory on TIVOL.com

The Marketing Department at TIVOL produces all of its communications
internally, so it is essential that the Production Assistant comes to work
every day with a willingness to work on a variety of projects, both small
and large. The desire to collaborate, exchange ideas in a team environment
and to welcome positive criticism is an absolute must. Keeping print and
digital files carefully organized is also important, as well as
maintaining a tidy workspace.

- An Associate's Degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications
