as an intern at designboom, you will given responsibilities that are essential to the management and success of our publication. during your time with us you will learn a lot (!!!) and quickly become knowledgeable in a variety of creative topics, processes and materials.
there never is a dull moment at designboom. we are continuously on the go, and as an active member of our team, you will have the opportunity to travel and visit different exhibitions and events; and of course living in milan, one of the global epicenters of design, you will be in a city full of established ateliers, surrounded by a strong creative history, as well as contemporary style!
we are currently seeking a candidate to fulfill an internship with a focus on SOCIAL MEDIA COMMUNICATION
with over 900,000 facebook followers, more than 240,000 on twitter, and surpassing 2.56 million google-plussers, designboom is seeking someone to not only listen, respond, and engage with our international audience, but also expand the community participation and outreach throughout our various platforms. we are looking for a creative and enthusiastic individual who lives and breathes in the social stratosphere. with a background in communications, and/or marketing — and a strong interest in art, architecture and design — you will work on our presence through various networks. you will create and edit all content for platforms such as facebook, twitter, google+, pinterest, tumblr, instagram and similar sites. delivering a consistent voice to our readers is essential, and you will build on our rapidly growing group of social media followers. you should also have an interest in keeping up to date on the various trends and applications related to social media, and have a keen eye for detail.
the internship would be 8 months long in duration.

the details:
you will work in designboom’s office in milan, italy, where you will be an essential member of a small international team of smart people focused on solving design and communication challenges. you will report directly to designboom’s executives and will be co-responsible for developing the social media content on designboom. working hours are monday to friday, 9am – 6pm (except in circumstances where we may have to work extra to meet deadlines). you will receive a monthly stipend to help cover the cost of your living and work-travel expenses. as part of your internship you will experience the life and culture of milan.

in the past, we have had many talented interns from all across the world. interns from countries outside of the EU (european union) would need to prepare the necessary paperwork enabling them to stay in italy for 8 months. designboom will provide a letter stating its offer of internship and consult with you on different strategies related to your country of provenience in obtaining a student / holiday working VISA.
